'It's Lincoln not Django that put the N-word into cinema'

THE OSCAR nominations was a resounding two fingered backward 'v' sign from the Academy of Motion Pictures to film maker Spike Lee.

Quite apart from heeding his call to boycott Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained they rewarded the Pulp Fiction director with several award nominations for his controversial 'slave western'.

You see the stars of Hollywood who make up the Academy do not give a stuff that Django is packed with an overuse of the 'N' word. They don't object to that like Spike does. In fact, they relish in it. They've nominated Django for one Oscar for every 36 uses of the N word in the movie.

By that reckoning Tarantino should have used the insulting word 110 more times and he'd be quids in with an armful of Oscars. In other words, "Up yours, Spike" is the message that this year's Oscars are sending out to the beleaguered Do The Right Thing director.

Travesty

But the Oscars are not just about Django, they are also about Lincoln, the newest Steven Spielberg flick which is a travesty of the true history of enslavement.

Just like the great white hype of a couple of years ago that William Wilberforce ‘freed the slaves', Lincoln tries to pull the wool over black eyes that we would all still be enslaved if it wasn't for that white dude in a top hat and a funny beard who just happened to be President of the United States at the time of the great black uprising against the shackles of that iniquitous trade.

The movie Lincoln is America's Wilberforce and if Spike Lee was half the intelligent man I assume him to be, he would not be wasting his cinematic ire on how many times the N word is used in a Quentin Tarantino film when the real pernicious movie is the one that will keep perpetuating the Great White Lie for another century. Lincoln makes N words out of us all.

Spike, you African Americans should be boycotting Lincoln, not Django.
