Jamaica's Sandy victims to get new homes

A SELECTION of Jamaicans who lost their homes following the passage of Hurricane Sandy in October will begin receiving keys to their new homes today, the Jamaica Gleaner report.

The handover will take place for owners in the parish of St. Mary.

The newly reconstructed houses are in the Hamilton Mountain community.

The houses were constructed through the collaborative efforts of Red Stripe, Food for the Poor and the Eastern Parishes Hurricane Relief Fund.

A total of 365 homes in the Caribbean country were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
