BACK TO SCHOOL: Jamelia donned her school uniform for the launch of Kellogg's breakfast club awards

JAMELIA DAVIS donned her school uniform and grabbed her book bag as she headed back to school for the first day of term last week.

Launching the Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Awards, the former Loose Women panellist joined school kids at St Bernadette’s Primary School, in Stockport, for breakfast as they kicked off the new school year.

Encouraging entries to this year’s awards, the pop star discussed the benefits of school breakfast clubs and told of her own experience attending as a child.

Mum-of-three, Jamelia, 37, said: “Growing up breakfast club was a key part of our family life and was a great driver in growing my confidence as a child.

“My mother was a single, working parent therefore breakfast club proved support and enabled her to go back to work – while ensuring I had the best start to the day.”

Schools across the UK and Northern Ireland are now invited to enter for the chance to win a cash prize. Winners will also be invited to attend an awards ceremony in The Houses of Parliament.

A specialist panel of judges will hand-pick the entries and the winners will be announced on Monday October 29 2018.
