PRIVACY: Jennifer Hudson
JENNIFER HUDSON has rubbished the idea that being a well-known personality should entitle the media to ask her extremely personal questions.
The Oscar-winning star, whose mother, brother and nephew were murdered in 2008, has since remained tight-lipped about the tragedy. And she insists that celebrities should have a right to privacy, despite their fame.
“Dealing with media interest has always been one of the hardest things for me to get used to now that I’m famous, because I still feel very much like everybody else,” Hudson told The Voice. “Making music is just what I do.”
Earlier this year, the recently slimmed down singer slammed entertainment website Bossip, after the US blog site insinuated that she was struggling to find a publisher for a book she’s penning about her dramatic weight loss.
Bossip’s story asserted that Hudson wouldn’t be able to land a hefty book deal without talking about her slain family members, which prompted the 29-year old to hit back via Twitter, saying: “Y would u take someone’s tragedy and build a story of nothing but lies around it. Bossip u owe me an apology!”
Though the singer is aware of the media interest in her personal life, she’s adamant that she won’t talk about things she’s not comfortable discussing.
She says: “At times, I feel like, ‘You ain’t gonna let someone come up to you and ask you your personal business, so why do you think it’s okay to ask me that?’ So yeah, certain things are off limits.”

CommentsI love JENNIFER HUDSON
I love JENNIFER HUDSON come on guys so said to read peoples comments on her on here. Can't the girl have any happiness without people running her down. Walk in a persons shoes before you cast judgement. I have been in the media eye and they print what they like about you affecting your family and friends sometimes. ok so you expect media to do that... but don't think anyone would ever expect your whole family to be taken away and then have to answer questions about it in every interview dragging up old mermories everyday... ask yourself is that wrong for her to refuse to speak about this ?
what would you do if you was in her shoes ?
I wouldn't be able to continue with such a great lost and so take my hat off to the girl ... you should too
Shame on you people... shame on you x
She's so boooooooring now

Devil sign
Why is she doing the devil sign. All these soo called celebs are worshiping the devil. If you don't believe, then check it out for your self.
Respect the media!
I appreciate that Jennifer's situation is tragic and one that shouldn't be treated disrespectfully. But I do take issue with celebs who happily court the media when it suits them, then retreat and cry about needing their privacy when they've got nothing to promote! This is a business. If you enter into the public eye, media interest comes as standard. And I find that many of those who moan about tabloids are often just as guilty of reading them to find out what's going on in the celebrity world.
Nonsense
I'm getting tired of that lame line.
Noone applies the same logic to Volkswagen or any other major global corporation do they? I mean noone is suggesting that large companies have 'got it coming' when the press wants to know about their private lives just because they're 'courting the media' when they've 'got something to promote' and advertising in the press.
So what's the difference?
(aside from our own personal nosiness: NOTHING)
Of COURSE a celeb has to court the media when they're promoting something - the clue is in the word 'promoting'. I see absolutely no justification for believing that that somehow means the same celeb should be happy to put up with pictures being taken of their children or having paps stuck up a tree taking pictures of them without their clothes on.
This is complete and utter nonsense.
The only thing I am interested in re celebs is a) what their new work is and b) what they have to say about themselves/their new work.
I have ABSOLUTELY no interest in finding out salacious gossip about them which is clearly STOLEN from them.
Back in the day someone like Parkinson did AMAZING interviews with celebs - and everyone loved them. Noone thought he should be rude or pushy in order to get a good interview from them. So why should we now?
Too Bloody Right!
Too bloody right!
Good on yer, Jennifer!
They're only interested in your private life because they think they can make money out of it. It has no bearing on public interest whatsoever, despite their pretence at that.
The situation with Murdoch's papers recently should be underlining the hypocrisy of the tabloid / Gossip press.
