John Terry charged by The FA

DEFENCE: Now John Terry will have to answer to The FA

JOHN TERRY has been charged by The Football Association over last season’s incident with Anton Ferdinand at Loftus Park, which occurred on October 23 2011.

The charge accuses Terry of using ‘abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour’ towards Queens Park Ranger defender, Ferdinand.

An investigation into the events was started by the FA, but was put on hold until the outcome of the criminal trial; in which Terry was found not guilty. This investigation will be based on the rules that govern football.

The official statement said: “It is further alleged that this included a reference to the ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race of Anton Ferdinand.

The Chelsea captain has until August 3 to respond and he is allowed to play for England during this time.
