Karrueche Tran apologises for mocking Blue Ivy’s hair

SORRY: Karrueche Tran

AFTER RECEIVING countless tweets condemning her "rude" remark about Blue Ivy’s natural VMA curls, Karreuche Tran has issued a public apology.

What started out as a joke backfired on Tran, 26, and now she’s trying to make amends for the comment she made about Beyoncé and Jay Z's daughter's “uncombed” hair during an August 25 episode of the BET show 106 & Park.

Tran made the mean-spirited joke in the segment called "Top Six Things Blue Ivy Thought At The VMAs".

"I really did wake up like this, because my parents never comb my hair," she joked. She then added, "Sorry Blue! I love you."

DISSED: Karrueche Tran made fun of Jay Z and Beyoncé's daughter's hair

Following the not-so-funny joke, die-hard Beyoncé and Jay Z fans took to Twitter to blast the the model.

One fan tweeted: "Karrueche or karate chop or whatever needs to exit before dissing Blue Ivy's hair. Where's your career though?"

Another said: "You're clinging on to a man & relevance for dear life cause you don't have a plan B. You're not even worthy of Blue Ivy's breath @karrueche."

To defend herself, Tran tweeted: "Now y'all know I LOVE me some Beyoncé and Blue Ivy! I didn't write this script y'all lol."

It seems the tweet was not enough to calm down the critics, so Tran released a statement through her publicist yesterday (Aug 26).

The statement said: "Yesterday, Karrueche Tran co-hosted 106 & Park and while hosting the show, she made a comment about Blue Ivy’s hair during the segment 'Top Six Things Blue Ivy Thought at the VMAs. In no way did Karrueche mean to offend Blue Ivy or her parents, Beyoncé and Jay Z.

"This was Karrueche’s first time hosting on live television. Although she had been rehearsing the script for days, there was a script change ten minutes before showtime to add coverage of the VMAs and the Mike Brown Memorial. Karrueche had not reviewed the revised script until she read it on the teleprompter.

Karrueche is taking full responsibility for the comment but wants it clear that she would not mock a child."

The statement is claimed that Tran "admires girls and women who wear natural hair."

On Instagram, Tran further said: "I would never disrespect anyone's child in anyway."
