Kelly Rowland: I’m not ‘jealous’ of Beyonce'

KELLY ROWLAND has come out to defiantly claim she is not “jealous by any means” of the incredible success of Beyonce.

Both women, along with Michelle Williams, found fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s with group Destiny’s Child, but it is clearly Beyonce who has gone on to take R&B, pop and world music by storm, while Rowland and Williams have had to live in her shadow.

Nonetheless, in an interview with US show Good Morning America, Rowland said she harbours no ill feelings to the wife of rap mogul Jay Z, despite her previously saying when Destiny’s Child split: “While my sister [Beyonce] was on stage, killing it like a motherf**ker, I was enraged, feeling it like a motherf**ker”.

Rowland told the programme: “I’m not saying I’m jealous of her by any means.

“It’s so sad that people always go straight to that place [of jealousy].

“It’s ridiculous. It’s basically about me going through some struggles in my life while she was doing her thing.”

Rowland has a recently released album Talk A Good Game, which has received positive reviews from some critics.

She also recently revealed she got engaged to her long-term partner, who proposed over Skype.
