Kevin Hart comes to Tiffany Haddish's defence

FUNNY FACTOR: Tiffany Haddish's comedic clout has been called into question by veteran comedian Katt Williams

KEVIN HART has come to the defence of Tiffany Haddish after fellow comedian Katt Williams doubted her talent on live radio.

In an interview on Frank and Wanda’s Morning Show on Atlanta’s V103 radio, Williams called into question Haddish’s comedic abilities.

He said: “She’s been doing comedy since she was 16. You can’t tell me your favorite Tiffany Haddish joke... Why? Because she ain’t done a tour yet. She ain’t done a special. She has not proven the ability to tell jokes back-to-back for an hour to nobody.”

Hart, who is stars in Night School alongside Haddish defended her on social media.

He said: “Let me break it down to you because I love to support. I go back with Tiff.

“I remember the days when Tiffany Haddish was sleeping out her car. I remember the days when Tiffany Haddish was homeless. I remember the days when Tiffany Haddish didn’t have not a dime in her goddamn pocket. Worked hard, grinded and got to where she is today and at the height of her career when most should applaud, most should celebrate, some choose to down.”

Hart is not the only comedian to speak up for Haddish.

In an interview with Madame Noire, comedian and The Real presenter Loni Love said: “The thing that I always tell people is that every comic has a different path,” she said. “Your path is gonna be different from somebody else’s path. Nobody is ever passed over. Everybody gets a chance.”

If Williams was trying to provoke a negative knee-jerk reaction out of Haddish, he failed.

The Girls Trip actress opted to respond to his comments lightheartedly.

She tweeted: “It’s official I made it! @KattPackAllDay talked about me and didn’t have his facts right! #Iwin #sheready I look forward to seeing you on Monday Katt, when we pick up our Emmys. I just want to shower you with real love cause you need it, and I love you.”

The 38-year-old won her first Emmy award at the 2018 Creative Arts Emmys last weekend for her guest hosting of Saturday Night Live.

Williams also won an Emmy for his guest role in Donald Glover’s Atlanta.
