GOODBYE: L.A Reid leaving X Factor US
AFTER SITTING on the judging panel for two years, music mogul L.A Reid has decided to leave X Factor USA.
The 56-year-old was the only judge to survive the panel cuts last year, which saw Simon Cowell axe female judges ex Pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger and former American Idol companion Paula Abdul.
The Epic Records chairman told Access Hollywood: "I have decided that I will not return to The X Factor next year. It saddens me a little bit, but only a little bit. I have a company to run that I’ve kind of neglected."
He added: "I love Simon. We have a great relationship. We have fun together, we talk, we laugh and do bad things, we’re friends."
Reid has enjoyed success with his over 28s category on this year's X Factor USA, with his act, country singer Tate Steven's being voted through to the final of the entertainment show next week.
"This was a nice break but now it’s time to get back to work." he said.
Reid is responsible for signing and launching the careers of some of the biggest acts in the world, such as Rihanna, Justin Beiber, Ne-Yo and Usher.
