The London Muslim Lifestyle Show returns to Olympia

MODESTY: The Modest Fashion Show formed part of the 2016 London Muslim Lifestyle Show

THE LONDON Muslim Lifestyle Show (LMLS) returns to the Kensington Olympia on 15-16 April this year, following its debut last year, which attracted 19,000 visitors to the exhibition centre.

One of the show's main aims is to show the strength of the Muslim pound and its positive impact on the capital. At the first show last year, over £500,000 was spent over two days with exhibitors who showcased their goods and services.

Exhibitors themselves travelled in from 15 different countries in order to have a space at the LMLS.

Waleed Jahangir, an LMLS organiser stated:

“Post-Brexit UK needs to trade with non-European territories, a majority of which are Muslim...

"By operating halal protocols, we aim to be the conduit between UK and the emerging Halal market by using this event as a platform and vehicle”.

2017 LMLS highlights will include Islamica 500, which will feature top Muslim industry influencers from around the world and the International Fashion show hosted by international shopping portal, Modanisa.

For the foodies in attendance, there will be a live cookery theatre hosted by Masterchef winner Shelina Permalloo, as well as Great British Bake Off contestant Ali Imdad. Additional features include Halal ‘eat-offs’, the ‘Great British Halal Chef’ cooking up a storm in the kitchen, and a section on how to make 15-minute Halal meals.

Other attractions include:

• Over 150 pop-up shops
• Halal Food Court serving everything from beef hot dogs to chicken ramen
• Dedicated Kids Zone
• Live traditional entertainment
• Comedy shows
• Expert seminars
• Muslim marriage singles event
• Islamic art gallery
• Inspirational speakers.

As well as offering entertainment and a space to sample a range of goods, LMLS aims to break down social barriers and misconceptions of the Muslim community.

A recent report by one of the show’s respected event partners, Reuters Thomson, revealed that global expenditure by Muslim consumers crossed £1.6 trillion last year, which is projected to grow to an outstanding £2.5 trillion by 2021.

“This is a massive community with a global reach and economic influence, and we bring it together at Olympia for a two day festival,” says Jahangir.

“It’s a brilliant family day out, and one which combines the very best of Halal business and lifestyle.”

George Galloway commented:

“This is a beautiful, colourful and fitting festival of Muslim culture and a genuine celebration of the Muslim lifestyle.”

The London Muslim Lifestyle Show 2017 takes place on 15th-16th April at Olympia London, Hammersmith Rd, London W14 8UX. For information on tickets, stand bookings and more, click here.
