Lukaku a doubt for Belgium

BELGIUM FORWARD Romelu Lukaku may miss his nation's opening game against Algeria on June 17 after missing four days of training in Brazil.

He picked up and ankle strain in the 1-0 friendly win over Tunisia last Saturday. It is the latest striker problem to hit the Belgian squad after Aston Villa hitman Christian Benteke was ruled out of the tournament last month following a knee operation due to an Achilles injury.

The Chelsea striker - who was on loan at Everton last season - had been in great form; scoring three goals in two warm-up games against Switzerland and Sweden which Belgium won 5-1 and 2-0, respectively.

It is hoped he will return to face South Korea and Russia in the final two group games.
