Man dies after Lewisham disturbance

ONE MAN has died following a fight in Lewisham High Street last night.

Police were called at around 9.20 pm last night (Nov 10) after reports of a disturbance in Lewisham High
Street, SE13.

The man,in his 20s, was found injured and died in hospital early this morning (Nov 11).

The spot where the fight happened is still cordoned off this morning (Nov 11) with the public prevented from entering and buses rerouted. Investigators were also present.

Police told the Voice: "Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.

One man - aged in his 20s - was taken to hospital by LAS suffering serious injuries. He died at hospital in the early hours on Sunday, 11 November.

"Officers believe they know the identity of the
deceased, but await formal identification.

"Officers from Lewisham CID are investigating together with colleagues from the Specialist Crime & Operations Directorate.

"Lewisham High Street is closed at the junction with Courthill Road.

"There has been no arrest at this early stage."
