Man receives $45m medical bill

SHOCKING: Man wrongly receives $45 million medical bill

AN UNEMPLOYED man received a $45 million medical bill in the post following treatment for pneumonia.

Alex Rodriguez claims that The Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York, should have only charged him $300 for the care he received and 'almost had an asthma attack' when he saw the amount he allegedly owed.

The extraordinarily high bill was allegedly the result of a 'computer error' at billing firm US PHY Services.

Rodriguez told ABClocal: "Some people found it funny. I had a little laugh and I was like, 'OK, what am I going to do with this bill?'"

He added: "There was a computer error that occurred from a company that does some of the billing for physicians associated with the hospital."

A representiative for PHY allegedly told Rodriguez that there had simply been a 'system error' and he was not liable to pay the amount and apologised for the 'inconvenience caused'.
