Man suspected of murdering wife

KILLED: Juliet Edwards

A MAN is currently being questioned on suspicion of murdering his wife.

Melvyn Edwards, 58, is thought to have stabbed wife Juliet to death at her home in Moss Side, Manchester, on Saturday morning (July 23), reports the Manchester Evening News.

It is believed that the incident was 'domestic-related'.

Mrs Edwards, a grandmother, was taken to hospital but later died. A post-mortem revealed she had suffered a single stab wound.

Det Chief Insp Joanne Rawlinson said: "We have a team of highly-trained detectives working on this investigation to establish the full circumstances of what has taken place.

"I would like to appeal for anyone that was in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen anything or heard something to come forward. I would also like to hear from anyone who knew Juliet, who may have information to assist with our investigation."

A 21-year-old man, also arrested on suspicion of murder, was released without charge.
