Man wanted for scalding victim outside bookies

WANTED: Two CCTV images of the man wanted in connection with scalding his victim with a hot drink

A MAN who sent another man to hospital with burns after he threw a hot drink over his chest is wanted by police.

Detectives in Birmingham are appealing for information about the scalding attack that took place on October 18 at about 9.15am outside a William Hill bookmakers in Waterloo Street.

Police have released CCTV images of the male suspect, who is accused of throwing hot coffee or tea over the chest of a 32-year-old man.

The attack occurred following an argument when the two got talking after one gave the other a cigarette.

The scalding drink left the victim with burn injuries that required treatment in hospital.

Officers describe the suspect as “black, with a distinctive scar on his face and he was wearing a dark hoodie.”

Detective constable Justin Le Fort said: “I am hoping that the public will be able to help us identify the man in the images, the reason behind the attack is unclear but a man has received significant burns to his body as a result.”
