THREATS: Man who sent noose to interracial couple is jailed

A MAN has reportedly been jailed for three months for posting a noose and photos of lynchings to a black man and his white wife.

A Detriot udge also ordered, Glenn E. Morgan Jr., to perform 200 hours of community service and fined him $2,000 after he plead guilty to sending threats to the couple in November 2008.

The 41-year-old suspect, who is also expected to remain on two years supervised released, sent messages saying black men who marry white women must lynched.

U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan Barbara L. McQuade told detroit.cbslocal.com: “The law protects people from threats and harassment based on their race."

She added: "We will prosecute anyone who seeks to racially intimidate members of our community.”
