FIVE-WEIGHT world champion Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather announced his plans on December 12 to return to action on May 4 in Las Vegas, Nevada, against a yet-to-be-named opponent.
After pleading guilty to assaulting his former girlfriend back in 2010, the 36-year-old was jailed in June but was released in August.
Mayweather, who has an undefeated record of 43 wins (26 K.Os), is regarded by many experts as the best boxer on the planet.
The American last fought in May 2012 against Miguel Cotto, who he defeated on points over 12 rounds.
Speaking about his in-ring return, Mayweather told Fighthype.com; “I mean, I can’t wait. As of right now, I know May 4 is a date and in September there’s a date. That’s what the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe, said. At this particular time, everything is still up in the air. If those are my dates, I’m looking to go out there and perform on those days and look well for my fans.”
