Mayweather under attack

UNDER FIRE: Floyd Mayweather

BOXING LEGEND Floyd Mayweather is due a defeat according to his next opponent Victor Ortiz. The pair are due to meet later this month at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and Ortiz has already come out fighting.

Ortiz’s WBC welterweight crown is up for grabs and he is not intimidated by Mayweather’s unbeaten 42-fight record.
"He's overdue a defeat, he's way overdue. The southpaw added: "Floyd is a good fighter, but I've always thought he wasn't great.

"Ever since I was a kid, you know, when you're a little boy, you sit back and you say, 'Wow, that guy's good, that guy's great'.
"Oscar De La Hoya was one of those for me. Shane Mosley was definitely one and so was Bernard Hopkins.

"Mayweather, not in his prime, not in his come-up, not in his anything, has ever been that way so I'm definitely not impressed.

"I'm not a person who's going to hold any respect like those other 41 who fought him before — I'll show you everything on September 17

“I don't care what he brings, he's done. He was done when he signed to fight me. Everything will be discovered and told on September 17 when a man's career ends and a new man's begins. And let me clarify for you, Victor Ortiz will begin his reign on his throne."

Ortiz, 24, added: "I've always been the underdog in everything I've done in my life, just the way I've grown up and even in boxing.

"I was always told I won't do certain things or that I didn't have the potential to become something big, but I've done pretty well for myself."
