Mel C 'bans daughter from watching Rihanna's music videos'

BANNED: Former Spice Girl, Mel C (left) does not let her seven-year-old daughter watch Rihanna's (right) music videos

FORMER SPICE Girl Mel C has revealed her five-year-old daughter is a huge Rihanna fan – but she won’t let her watch her raunchy videos.

Mel C, full name Melanie Chisholm, thinks the R&B superstar flashes too much flesh in the videos and she wants to protect her daughter, Scarlet’s innocence.

The singer, who was Sporty Spice in the 1990s girl band, told The Daily Mirror: “My girl Scarlet is a big fan of Rihanna, but I won’t let her watch the videos – they’re too sexual.

“I protect my daughter from it while I can, but she’s growing up fast.”

RAUNCHY: The Spice Girls burst onto the pop scene in 1996 and became known for their skimpy outifts and raunchy dancing

This isn't the first time Chisholm has criticised Rihanna for behaving in a manner that is inappropriate' for her young fans.

In 2011 she said: "It is inappropriate. Rihanna has responsibility and although culture's always changing, it's changed too much. It needs to be dealt with. It's reached saturation point, we owe it to our kids to protect them."

The 40-year-old added that Rihanna might not understand where she's coming from because she's not a mother herself: "I love Rihanna, I think she's a f****** brilliant artist, with great songs, a great record and she looks fantastic... but she's not a mum. Maybe if she becomes one she'll feel different. I hope so anyway."
