Met given more time to question man over beauty queen murder

MURDERED: Linah Keza

POLICE HAVE been granted more time to question a man over the brutal murder of a young beauty queen in her east London home.

Rwandan-born Linah Keza, 29, was discovered by paramedics at 4.29am on Wednesday morning (July 31) at her residence in King Edward Road, Leyton. She had been stabbed multiple times in the chest.

Little is known about the circumstances surrounding the mother-of-one's death, although it is believed that Keza's ex partner is responsible for the attack.

Reports have recently emerged that officers had given the former Miss Africa contestant a panic button after she had received death threats.

Police yesterday (Aug 1) confirmed that a 38-year-old man had been arrested in connection to the incident.

A statement from The Met, read: "The Metropolitan Police Service has voluntarily referred matters in connection with this incident to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC), namely around previous contact by police between the arrested man and the 29-year-old victim. It would inappropriate to comment further at this time."
