MO THE Comedian has revealed today that he is officially getting his own show on Channel 4.

The entertainer, whose real name is Mo Gilligan, shared the news with fans on social media.

On Twitter, he wrote: “Excited to announce my own show has now been officially commissioned by Channel 4 6x60min eps airing in 2019 on the 10pm slot. But even more exciting this show will be co-produced by new production company Momo G Ltd.”

Momo G Ltd is the 30-year-old’s newly established production company.

Gilligan said: “These things take a lot of time and careful planning. But even more exciting this show will be co-produced by new production company Momo G Ltd. To have my own show is one thing, to get the 10pm is another thing but to get my hands dirty in the production side is going to massively exciting and a new challenging as well. I’d like to thank everyone behind the scenes that helped put this together but now the hard work really starts.”

In a statement, Channel 4 said that Mo will “present his own entertainment show built around his stand up, strands and sketches”. The programme will be filmed in front of a studio audience.

News of a Gilligan show with the broadcaster had been hinted at back in April but it was not confirmed until today.

In a second post on Twitter, Gilligan revealed that The Big Narstie Show would be returning to screens for a second series in 2019.

Stating that the best news comes in threes, Gilligan dropped a third piece of big news – the Big Narstie Show will have a Christmas special later this year.

The show was one of the channel’s most popular programmes among young audiences, according to Channel 4 figures.

A co-presenter of the show, Gilligan said: “The festive period with me and Big Narstie on Channel 4 is going to be all kinds of mad.”
