Monye extends stay at The Stoop

STAYING PUT: Monye

ENGLAND AND British Lions back Ugo Monye has signed a new contract at Harlequins that will keep him at the club until 2015.

The 28-year-old winger has been at Quins his entire career since making his debut in 2002 where he gone on to make 169 appearances, scoring 73 tries including three tries in five games this season.

"I have so many wonderful memories here at Quins, but what I think I am most proud about is the way the club have bounced back from adversity. The negatives have seen us become stronger,” said Monye, who been capped 13 times by England.

"Reaching the semi-finals of the Premiership in 2009 and, more recently, the wins against Munster and Stade Francais in the Amlin Challenge Cup, are moments I will treasure, along with making my debut for England and the Lions. I am so proud to be a part of this club, and I am looking forward to extending my time here by at least another three years."

Having won all 10 of their matches Aviva Premiership matches this season, Harlequins occupy first place in the Aviva Premiership table with 43 points, nine points ahead of their nearest challengers Saracens.
