Muamba ties the knot

HAPPY COUPLE: Fabrice Muamba and Shauna Magunda

EX-FOOTBALLER FABRICE Muamba has married Shauna Magunda just seven months after he narrowly escaped death when his heart stopped during a game.

The 24-year-old ex-Bolton Wanderers player suffered a cardiac arrest during an FA Cup tie against Tottenham Hotspur on March 17.

His heart stopped for 78 minutes which meant he was technically dead.

However, the former England under-21 international - who has since been fitted with a defibrillator - made a miraculous recovery to wed his long-term love Magunda on October 21 at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, northwest England.

He told Hello! Magazine: “'This year has been a difficult [year] but, to me, marriage is the happy ending."

Their three-year-old son Joshua was pageboy at the wedding and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was the best man at the ceremony.

Manchester United forward Robin van Persie was also in attendance.

Van Persie added: ''The cardiac arrest had a big impact on everyone in football, and we all lived the moment as Fab recovered in hospital. Everyone is so relieved and happy for him and Shauna.”
