Murder appeal a year on from shooting

POLICE HAVE made an appeal for information in regards to a murder in Thornton Heath, south London last year.

On July 1, 2011, 41-year-old Carlton Ned was fatally shot on Langdale Road.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a single gunshot wound to the chest.

The Metropolitan Police Service is offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of whoever is responsible for Ned’s murder.

Detectives have released CCTV images that they believe show a silver Ford Fiesta which travelled up London Road towards Stockwell.

The vehicle then turned left into Semley Road.

"We need anyone who saw a silver vehicle travelling in Langdale Road or London Road, or has any information about this car to come forward,” said detective chief inspector John Crossley from Trident.

“It is essential we trace the vehicle as soon as possible. We would like to appeal to anyone who has any information about this dreadful murder to come forward no matter how small you think it may be, your information could be vital and it is not too late.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Incident Room on 020 8733 4212; if you wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
