AWARENESS: Music Relief Foundation

IN AN effort to combat the ongoing spate of knife crime amongst youths in London, Music Relief Foundation, announces ‘Youths Matter’.

Music Relief Foundation invites young adults, victims, community leaders, experts and professionals from schools, hospitals, the police and criminal justice partners who have expertise and experience of knife crime to this free event taking place in Parliament. To book your place visit Music Relief's website.

Special guest speakers will include: Sarah Jones MP, the recently elected MP for Croydon Central has set up the new All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on knife crime after conversations with constituents on the campaign trail.

Also in attendance will be Chief Superintendent Jeff Boothe and Croydon Borough Commander Yemi Hughes – mother of murdered knife victim Andre Aderemi.

Former police commissioner, Sir Bernard Hogan Howe, said: "It is clear we need to do more to get over the message that it is wrong to carry a knife. We will continue to pursue those who carry and use them to hurt people. If you know of someone who carries knives - tell someone, the police, a teacher, a faith leader or your family. Let's take action together."

“Every death of a young life is a loss of great talent and potential that will never be utilised. We understand that there are no quick fixes, however taking a step towards ending this social vice brings us closer to our aim of ending knife crime and equipping young people with lifelong skills and the acknowledgment of their potentials’’ said Magdalene Adenaike, CEO and Founder of Music Relief Foundation.

The event will be held on Thursday 16 November 2017, 7pm – 9pm at Westminster House, 7 Millbank, Westminster London SW1P 3JA.
