Nene Leakes apologises for rape comment at comedy show

NENE LEAKES made a shocking comment to a heckler while on stage during a comedy event in California on Saturday.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was hosting the event at the Paramount Theater in Oakland, California, when she was caught on video wishing rape on the audience member, who reportedly booed Leakes during an onstage riff about Uber.

“I ain’t even gonna tell you about the goddamn Uber driver,” Leakes can be heard saying in a video clip. “I hope he rape your ass tonight when he take you home, b***h. And steal your funky hello kitty, b**h.”

The comment has caused outrage across social media, prompting Leakes to apologise. “I truly regret and apologise for what I said from the stage in Oakland over the weekend,” Leakes said in a statement Monday afternoon on Facebook.

“Sometimes words can cut deep and hurt when you have no intentions of them doing so. As a woman and someone who has survived abuse, I regret the words that I used. I made a mistake and I should have known better. I hope people accept my deepest and sincerest apologies. I am sorry.”
