BEYONCÉ AND JAY-Z have asked Oprah Winfrey to be the godmother of their newborn daughter, it has been reported.

According to RadarOnline, the superstar couple were against asking any relatives to fulfil the role and instead approached the media mogul, whom they are said to be very close to.

Despite constant rumoured post-baby interviews, the secretive couple have yet to sit down with any publication or release pictures of baby Blue Ivy, who was born on January 7.
