DENIAL: 'Oprah is NOT godmother to Beyonce's baby'

OPRAH'S BEST friend, Gayle King, has rubbished reports that the media mogul is godmother to Beyoncé and Jay Z's newborn daughter.

Last week it was alleged that the superstar couple were against asking any relatives to fulfil the role and instead approached Oprah, whom they are said to be very close, to take up the position.

Speaking on the CBS Morning Show, King said there was no truth behind the reports and went on to claim that she had not even sent three-week old, Blue Ivy, a gift yet.

It’s absolutely not true that she’s the godmother," King said. "She’s friends with them, of course, and likes them both very much."

"She’s [Oprah] working on sending them a baby gift. She hasn’t even had time to send a baby gift because she’s been away," she added.

Despite constant rumoured post-baby interviews, the niether Beyoncé or Jay Z have yet to sit down with any publication to confirm any news on their baby who was born on January 7.
