P Diddy 'joins' the cast of Downton Abbey

NEW ROLE: Diddy appears in the lead role of the hit series

MUSIC MOGUL P Diddy says that actor Gary Carr is not the first black character to join award-winning ITV series Downton Abbey because he’s been on the show from the very beginning.

The hip-hop entrepreneur, who sent fans into a frenzy when he announced that he would be joining the cast of the hit show, revealed a spoof set of “Down-Town” clips where he has superimposed himself, in the role of Lord Wolcott - the new owner of the Abbey, throughout the three seasons.

In the video, which the 43-year-old shared on Twitter, the rapper brings his own spin to the programme, creating comedy gold. He is then seen using the scene as a way to plug his Ciroc vodka, telling them: "Why don't we stop this bickering and have sip of some libation?"

Introducing the scenes, Diddy, who worked with comedy website Funny or Die on the project, says: "Hello everyone, this is Sean Combs coming to you from my office with some very, very exciting news about my favourite show of all time - Downton Abbey. Yes, I am an Abbey-head proudly, yes yes yes!"

The final episode of Downton Abbeybroke records in the US, where it became the highest rated drama ever on the PBS channel. Around 12.3m viewers tuned in to see the finale when it was screened.
