P Money's debut album reaches number 12 on the UK charts

CHART CLIMBER: The album was two spots from Apple's top 10 this morning

27 year-old Paris Moore-Williams, known as 'P Money' to fans and the Grime world celebrated today as his first studio album 'Live + Direct' reached number 12 (and climbing, we're sure) on the iTunes chart.

Hailed by respected DJ and BBC presenter Mista Jam as; “one of the most promising of the current generation of grime emcees”, P Money originated from the OGz (Organised Grime) collective before appearing as a guest MC alongside a string of notable musical peers including Wiley, JME, Lethal B. and Chipmunk.

Live + Direct is a 16-track release, opening with a lyrically-dense intro that doubles as a stinging rebuke to his biological father:

"Now there ain't a thing that could make me forgive him/Once upon a time my dad asked me how old I was on my birthday/Man I thought he was kidding/I stopped ringing his phone /And stopped wishing".

Each track seems to tell a story, making the whole thing devoid of any 'fillers' or shallow lyrics which is a great plus point for those who want to take each song in without any distractions. However, such a lyrical structure means that there are only a few songs which could be considered club bangers - this, combined with perhaps one nod to the commercial still makes for an enjoyable, varied listen.

One such potential club banger is moderately-paced 'Gun Fingers' featuring collaborators Wiley and JME, each considered pillars of entrepreneurial Grime in their own right; whilst the stand-out tracks are the piercing, staccato 'Intro' and catchy 'Don't Holla At Me' which showcases talent agency label mates Splurgeboys.

Live + Direct is available via Apple Music, iTunes and Spotify.
