Police appeal for Boxing Day murder witnesses

MURDERED: Seydou Diarrassouba was killed on Oxford Street

POLICE HAVE released CCTV images of potential witnesses following the murder of 18-year-old Seydou Diarrassouba on Boxing Day.

Diarrassouba, of Mitcham, south west London, was attacked on Oxford Street, reportedly Europe's busiest shopping street, while enjoying the sales in sports store, Footlocker.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and a post mortem examination revealed the cause of death as a single stab wound to the heart.

Officers have now released five images from the surveillance camera in the sports store in a hope that witnesses who saw the fatal stabbing will come forward.

WITNESS: Police appeal to witness who may have information

"Whilst continuing to investigate this tragic stabbing last Boxing Day, it has become apparent that there are a number of witnesses to the incident who have not yet come forward and it is vital we are able to speak to them so that we have a clear understanding of what happened that day," Kevin Concannon, Detective Chief Inspector of the Met's Homicide and Serious Crime Command.

He added: "I would encourage anyone who was there and who has not yet spoken to police to contact us."

A 20-year-old man, Thulani Thomas Khumalo, was charged with the teen's murder last month. Several other men, who were arrested over the killing, remain on police bail pending further investigations.
