APPEAL: A woman was subjected to a 'torrent of racist abuse' after refusing suspect's advances
POLICE ARE appealing for witnesses following the alleged racial abuse a woman on a Norwich train earlier this month.
Investigators have said they would urgently like to hear from anyone who was on the National Express service from Norwich to Liverpool Street at around 8pm on January 21.
Police believe the 21-year-old victim was subjected to a 'torrent of racist abuse' after she rejected the suspect's advances towards her.
Sergeant Haycock said: “We believe this man may have been among a group of men returning to London having been at the Norwich game against Chelsea.
“I am now urging anyone who was on the service at the time to contact police as a matter of urgency – your information could be valuable to the investigation," they added.
A 48-year-old man was arrested at Liverpool Street in connection with the incident and has been bailed pending further police enquiries.
