MURDERED: Billy Boyce founder Shaun Akanbi

POLICE HAVE confirmed that the young man found dead at a northwest London flat was that of celebrity designer Billy Boyce.

The 26-year-old, who has worked with several British stars including N Dubz, StooShe, Wiley and Tinie Tempah, was found dead at his home in Kilburn on December 22.

He had suffered “multiple stab wounds to the torso”, a postmortem found.

Billy Boyce, real name Moshood Abiola Akanbi, but more commonly known as Shaun Akanbi, was a law graduate who had “swapped a steady path” to build up a cult following with his fashion line.

Friends of Mr Akanbi took to the social networking site to mourn the loss of the "talented and humble" fashion designer.

"In the biggest amount of shock right now. R.I.P Billy Boyce serious talent and such a humble guy. Life is way too short [sic]," one user wrote.

Another added: "So sad about the death of Billy Boyce. Why is it those that do amazing for themselves get their lives taken away! Smh [sic]."

"Rest in Peace Shaun..A law graduate who took the fashion industry by storm. Billy Boyce lives on. 'The love of fashion brings strangers together in love'," another mourner wrote.

At 4.45pm on the day of his death police attended an address in Cedar Lodge, Exeter Road NW2 following concerns expressed for Akanbi's welfare.

Officers forced entry to the property and found a man suffering multiple injuries.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the flat when officers entered.
