Police discover the body of missing elderly man

YET TO BE IDENTIFIED: William Lee

THE BODY of an elderly man from north London, who went missing on March 21, is believed to have been discovered by the authorities.

Inspectors believe that they have found the body of William Lee, 77, from Hackney – who was suffering from the early stages of dementia – in Mays Lane, Barnet on March 25 at roughly 4:00pm.

Although officers await formal identification, Lee’s family have been contacted.

The death is not believed to be suspicious and enquiries continue by Hackney officers to establish the full circumstances surrounding his passing.
