Police in silver Mercedes appeal

SHOT: Carlton Ned

POLICE INVESTIGATING the murder of a 41-year-old man in south London are appealing for information on a silver Mercedes car they believe to be the getaway vehicle.

Carlton Ned, who was in a house when two armed men wearing balaclavas entered the property, was fatally shot in the chest when they opened fire.

A woman in her 50s, who was also in the property in Thornton Heath, south London, was taken to hospital with minor injuries and subsequently discharged.

Officers do not believe Mr. Ned was the intended target.

The two suspects, who were wearing dark clothing, are described as 5' 9" and 5' 2" with light brown skin.

Witnesses have described seeing suspects enter a silver car, which travelled down Langdale Road towards London Road.

Police say a silver Mercedes then travelled north up London Road towards Stockwell. However, they are of whether the Mercedes is the suspect vehicle, or if it was another car unconnected with the incident.

DCI Crossley said: "We need anyone who saw a silver vehicle travelling in Langdale Road, or who has information on the silver Mercedes seen in London Road, to come forward.

"It is essential we trace the suspect vehicle as soon as possible."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Incident Room on 020 8733 4212; if you wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
