Prominent Nigerian pastor accused of 'sexual abuse'

ALLEGATIONS: Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo

A NIGERIAN pastor has been accused of having an affair with several members of his congregation.

Ese Walter recently claimed that she had been involved in a week-long sexual relationship with Biodun Fatoyinbo, the head pastor at the Commonwealth of God Assembly (COZA) in capital city Abuja.

Walter, who termed the alleged relationship between herself and the married pastor as a form of “abuse”, has caused a stir on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter since she made the accusation last week on her blog site.

The former law student, claiming the affair occurred during the pastor’s London visit, said: “I recently came to know this event too was abuse.”

Explaining further, she said: “I first met Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo many years ago. I was getting bored of the church I was attending and someone suggested COZA.

“At the time, I had never heard about it. My friend said; go there, I’m sure you would enjoy the word. But he also gave me a strong warning. He said he would advice that I remain a member only and not join the workforce.”

However, months after joining the church, Walter claimed to have caught the eye of the pastor who encouraged her to become an employee.

The radio personality who obligingly joined the Pastoral Care department claims to have migrated from Nigeria to the UK to take up a master’s degree when the affair began.

“'You don’t have to be shy Ese, even if it’s alcohol, feel free and order what you want'”, she claimed the pastor told her during one of his visit to the UK six months ago.

Subsequently, she said, pastor Fatoyinbo invited her to sit on his lap and when she hesitated, she claimed the pastor told her to relax.

According to her, they kissed and soon were embroiled in a week-long amorous affair that left Walter feeling “abused” and “manipulated.”

Criticis have slammed Walters for making such allegation about a pastor. Some argue that her allegations were false.

However, another female has also come out with claims of her alleged encounter with the married pastor. His new accuser, known as Franca E, alleges to hold pictorial and voice recording of the sexual encounter

According to Franca, when she resisted Mr. Fatoyinbo’s advances, he rebuked her for acting like a “small illiterate uneducated girl.”

She claimed in order to convince her to sleep with him Mr. Fatoyinbo had described his wife as a “postcard…pretty on the outside but flat and empty upstairs. He said sex with her was like having sex with a cold dead fish.”

She claimed Mr. Fatoyinbo, whom she described as “randy goat with a deflated erection”, left her after she threatened to accuse him of rape.

To the dismay of many who attended the church yesterday, pastor Fatoyinbo did not offer a sound response regarding the allegation.

He said: "Now read my lips, I know there are people here that are not part of our church, read my lips, we are going to speak but we are consulting to come out with a robust reply.

"Before then I will not say anything, but I owe it to you as members that have made me proud and have made God proud".
