Rapper becomes latest victim of Chicago shootings

KILLED: Johnny Boy Da Prince

UP-AND-COMING rapper Johnny “Johnny Boy Da Prince” Taylor was reportedly shot to death in Chicago last week Wednesday [Jan 9].

The 23-year old, who was in talks to sign a record deal with Atlantic Records, was hit multiple times in the Garfield Park section of the city, reports The Chicago Tribune.

A motive behind the father-of-one’s death has yet to be determined but authorities have speculated that it may have been a deadly case of mistaken identity.

The victim's 14-year-old sister, Collisa Davis, told the Chicago Tribune: "Everyone was excited that he had a shot at a record deal. He was excited because he was a good rapper. That's what he wanted to be."

Taylor's killing follows the murders of several young local rappers shot and killed in the city over the past few months, including the death of hip-hop star Chief Keef's stepbrother Ulysses “YPN Boomtown” Gissendanner III.
