ANGRY: Rapper K'naan has asked Mitt Romney to stop using his song
RAPPER K'NAAN is said to be upset with US presidential hopeful candidate, Mitt Romney, for using of his song at a recent rally, it has been reported.
Romney, who is fighting to become the Republican presidential candidate, used the K'naan's hit-song Wavin' Flag during last weekend's primary victory speech in Florida.
In a statement released yesterday, K'Naan said Romney's campaign had not sought approval to use his song and that he would not have granted permission if they had and has threatened with legal action if they continue to use the song, according to AP
However the Somali-born rapper, who lives in Canada, revealed that he would happily grant President Barack Obama's campaign the use of the song if they were to ask.
The former governor's camp said the song was used through regular blanket license but, out of respect for K'Naan, would not use it again.
Wavin' Flag was an international hit in 2010 and one of the official songs at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
