Rapper Xzibit: ‘Planking’ can be traced back to slavery

REAL TALK: Xzibit

RAPPER XZIBIT has blasted celebrities who have joined the bizarre new craze of ‘planking’ arguing that its roots can be traced back to slavery.

Chris Brown and former Destiny’s Child star, LeToya Luckett, are just some of the celebrities who have tried their hand at the phenomena, which involves taking pictures lying face down in the most physically challenging places.

The former MTV host says that people must educate themselves before attempting to ‘plank’ because of its allegedly racist roots.

Taking to his official Twitter account, he wrote: "Planking is the dumbest s**t ever.”

“Planking is a way to transport slaves on ships during the slave trade, it's not funny. Educate yourselves,” he added in a separate post.”

Sadly the craze hit the headlines recently after a 20-year-old Australian man, from where the practice originated, died after ‘planking’ on a balcony.
