BACK IN BUSINESS: Usain Bolt
SPRINT KING Usain Bolt found redemption when he easily won the 200m gold medal at the World Championships in Daegu, South Korea today.
The world and Olympic champ won in a time of 19.40 seconds after running a superb bend in lane 3. American Walter Dix, who could not live with Bolt’s pace and power, came in second in 19.70 seconds while European champion Christope Lemaitre of France came home third in a personal best 19.80 seconds.
Considered the overwhelming favourite to win in Daegu, Bolt was eliminated from the final for a false start. Bolt's countryman, Yohan Blake won in a season’s best of 9.92 seconds. Bolt made no such mistakes in the longer discipline.
His usual pre-race antics were on show. Track and field’s global star had every reason to feel assured. He had looked confident and dominant in qualifying for the 200 final and went on to confirm just that.
Bolt simply blew away Dix as he continued his four year unbeaten record at 200m.
While his own personal best of 19.19 seconds was never under any threat, the sport’s biggest star proved that he is well and truly back.
The Jamaican will now turn his attention to securing more gold in the 4x100m relay.

CommentsRedemption for Bolt
I'm thrilled for him. His showman antics are quite amusing. I wish I was able to see it on his lastest win. I watch and follow racing only when Bolt is in it.
I noticed his personal best in the 200m was 19.19 seconds and in this race he ran 19.40 seconds, is the Bolt losing steam? That's a pretty wide gap there.
Anyway, good luck to you Mr. Bolt.
