COMEBACK: Release date set for Best Man sequel
THE SEQUEL to African-American cult classic The Best Man will be released next year.
A year after it was announced that Universal Pictures was moving forward with a follow up to the 1999 hit romantic comedy, an email to BET reportedly confirmed that the film is set to come out on November 15 2013.
The Hollywood triumph, which featured black actors Taye Diggs, Morris Chestnut and Nia Long, grossed an impressive $35 million when it was first released.
While the plot for The Best Man 2 has yet to be confirmed it has been rumoured that Malcolm D. Lee will write and co-produce the film for a second time.
The news comes after the acclaimed author hosted a reunion dinner with members of the original cast earlier this year attended by the original cast members.
Lee is currently directing Scary Movie 5.
