Renewed appeal for ‘gangland-style’ execution

POLICE ARE continuing to appeal for witnesses following the murder of a 23-year-old man in south London last week.

Genson Courtney was found in a black Volkswagen Golf suffering from gunshot wounds to his head and shoulder in Greenwich on on July 3.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead the following day.

One week on from the murder, detectives from Trident will be in the area appealing for witnesses.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Gower said: "I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact the police.

"I would like to reassure anyone concerned about contacting the police that Trident has great expertise in protecting witnesses and there are a huge variety of measures that can be put in place to protect you."
