GOAL GETTER: Romelu Lukaku scores for Everton (PA)
BELGIUM INTERNATIONAL Romelu Lukaku is determined to prove Chelsea made a terrible mistake in allowing him to leave and go on loan to Everton by outscoring all of the Blues’ frontline.
The 20-year-old is also confident his goals for the Toffees can result in them finishing higher in the league than his parent club.
None of Chelsea’s strikers – Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba – have managed to find the back of the net in the Premier League so far, but Lukaku has taken like a duck to water in the blue half of Liverpool, already bagging four goals.
Lukaku said: “[Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho] makes his decisions and I have to respect them, so I chose to go out on loan.
“I chose to leave and it’s up to me to prove the coach wrong.
“The only thing I can do is play well and score a lot and then I think people will say that I’m a good player.”
He added: “I want to score more goals than all the strikers currently at Chelsea. We will see at the end of the season who made the best choice.
“I hope my goals will help Everton finish higher than Chelsea.”
