Royal Mail honour Mo Farah

JOB DONE: Mo Farah wins the 10,000 at the Olympic Stadium

BRITISH LONG distance runner Mo Farah has had his Olympic win commemorated with a Gold Medal stamp created by Royal Mail.

Millions watched Farah, on what has been dubbed ‘Super Saturday’ (August 4) run a classic 10,000m to take gold and become Olympic champion.

With a time of 27:30.42 29-year-old Farah sprinted down the home straight in spectacular style with his American training partner Galen Rupptaking silver, and Ethiopian Tariku Bekele claiming a bronze medal.

Farah’s stamp will be the fourteenth Gold Stamp released by Royal Mail, with each Team GB gold medal winning athlete receiving the honour.

The stamps were placed on sale in over 500 post offices across the UK on Sunday(August 5) with an additional 4,700 post offices to receive the golden stamp later this week.

Royal Mail have also painted a post box gold in Mo Farah’ shometown of Isleworth in west London, where he trained and went to school.

On Saturday (August 11), Farah will attempt an Olympic double when he competes in the 5000m final.
