Russell Simmons faces new rape allegations

ACCUSED: Russell Simmons has refuted the allegations made against him

RUSSELL SIMMONS has again denied allegations of rape made against him after another woman came forward to claim she was attacked by the record label founder.

The accusation is the latest in around a dozen allegations of sexual misconduct made against Simmons.

A mostly first-person account of the incident was published in Variety yesterday.

In the account, Alexia Norton Jones claims the hip hop mogul forced himself on her when she went to his apartment after a first date in 1990.

She told Variety: “I must have said no seven to 10 times, and then I acquiesced. It was very fast. I would say it happened in less than 10 minutes.”

Simmons, the co-founder of Def Jam Recordings, has refuted the accusations and told The New York Times: “I have respectfully, factually and comprehensively denied the charges of sexual violence against me.”

Jones, who said Simmons’ continued denials prompted her to speak out, has filed a report with the police.

The 60-year-old stepped down from his companies last November following accusations from a female screenwriter. Jenny Lumet wrote an account detailing how Simmons “sexually violated” her in his apartment in 1991.

Another three women have also said that they were raped by Simmons, while numerous others have accused him of sexual misconduct and harassment.
