Samba boy could be set for 2012

CHOSEN: Ronaldinho

TWO-TIME WORLD Player of the Year Ronaldinho could be in action at the London 2012 Olympic Games having been selected in Brazil’s preliminary squad.

The 2004 and 2005 World Player of the Year would be one of three over aged players eligible for selection in the Under-23 tournament should he be apart of their final 18-man team.

Ronaldinho, 31, captured a bronze medal with the Samba Boys at the 2008 Olympic in Beijing.

Other high-profile over aged players chosen in the 52-man squad include Chelsea’s David Luiz, Barcelona’s Dani Alves and Inter Milan’s Julio Cesar.

Men’s football at the Olympics kicks-off on July 26 and finishes on August 11.
