Sensational Salah notches four goals in rout of Watford

ON FIRE: Mohamed Salah

MAGICAL LIVERPOOL forward Mohamed Salah scored four goals in his team’s a 5-0 drumming of Watford on Saturday evening (March 17).

The win put the Merseyside club back up to third in the Premier League, after losing to Manchester United the week before.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp had never lost two consecutive matches, and the Salah show ensured that this match was a formality.

Salah's first goal came after only three minutes. The African made light work of the Watford defence when skilfully weaving past three defenders deep inside the Hornets half - and somehow scored from a tight angle to score his 25th goal of the season.

Liverpool continued to dominate play, with Salah at the heart of every attack. His second goal came in the 40th minute after great run down the left from Liverpool's left-back Andrew Robertson who swung in a cross deep which somehow bypassed the away defence. Salah, after a trademark darting run into the penalty area, scored from close range.

The London club seemed to be content to defend despite the manager, Javi Garcia, saying before the game: “My team are coming to play some attacking football.”

Four minutes into the second period Roberto Firmino, assisted by another mazy run by Salah, made it 3-0 with an audacious finish.

Salah notched his hat-trick after he again danced his way past Watford’s hapless players inside the penalty area, before cutting inside to give himself literally half a yard to shoot whilst falling over.

The Egyptian celebrated with a prayer and then looked towards the Kop as he received thunderous applause.
His fourth and Liverpool’s fifth came in the 84th minute.

Liverpool substitute Danny Ings’ 25 yard shot was saved by the Watford keeper but was only parried to Salah who easily scored his 36th goal in all competitions, to become the only player since Luiz Suarez to score four goals in a match for Liverpool.

Watford had just a few attempts on goal but the match belonged to sensational Salah.
