Sixth man charged with rush hour murder in court today

KILLED: Marcus Innocent

THE SIXTH person charged with the rush hour murder of a man in south London, will appear in Bexleyheath Magistrates' Court today (Feb 11).

Dervis Bayram, 23, is the latest suspect in a string of men arrested under suspicion of killing Marcus Innocent, who was set upon by a group of 15-20 people moments before he died.

Prior to the murder, the group, described as black and white individuals, were seen congregating behind a parade of shops in Kingsman Street at the junction with Lord Warwick Street in Woolwich.

Police believe the victim was initially set upon by one person within this group and then by a larger number after which he was shot.

Some of the group were seen to run down Lord Warwick Street towards Frances Street while others got into cars parked in Lord Warwick Street by the rear of the shops. These cars then made off from the scene.

Three men were arrested in the days following the fatal shooting.
