Skelton set for Price showdown

TITLIST: Skelton

FORMER EUROPEAN heavyweight champion Matt Skelton will face unbeaten British and Commonwealth titleholder David Price on November 30 at Aintree racecourse.

After viciously knocking out Audley Harrison in the first round of his last contest on October 13, Price has been tipped by many to challenge for a world title in 2013.

However, the Liverpudlian must first get past Skelton.

The 45-year-old Skelton, who is also an ex-Lonsdale belt and Commonwealth titlist - and fought for a world title in 2008 - has 28 wins (23 K.Os) and six losses to his name.

“Matt was on stand-by in case Audley pulled out,” said Price.

“He went through with his part of the deal so we’ll go through with ours.

“I am aware he is 45, but he has won major championships and challenged for the world title.”

Price added: “I have only boxed 14 times as a professional and still learning and Matt will bring something new for me.”
