DEATH?: Don Cornelius

THE CREATOR of music show Soul Train, Don Cornelius was found dead in his California home of an apparent suicide, reports TMZ.

The celebrity gossip website claims that police discovered the 72-year-olds body with what is believed to be a self-inflicted died gunshot wound to the head at around 4 AM yesterday (Jan 31).

Cornelius was then taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The former TV presenter was most famed for being the frontman of US hit show Soul Train, which made its debut in 1971 and ran until 2006.

Officials have reportedly notified Don’s family.
